Chef Eric Frechon is the name that makes La Ferme Saint-Amour stand out, and it is the first thing I mention when guests on holiday in Megève ask me where to have dinner. The restaurant is at 181 Rue Saint-François de Sales, 74120 Megève, in the village itself, so it slots easily into an evening out in town.
It is because of him that I recommend the restaurant with such confidence, and I think you will understand why once the menu is in front of you. When someone asks me for a table worth remembering, his name comes to mind straight away.
The cooking is contemporary and creative, and it is winter cuisine, written for the season in the mountains. I send guests here when they want a dinner that feels modern and carefully considered, rather than a menu they have eaten a dozen times before. It suits the cold months in particular, when a good meal is part of the day's plan.
