Le Rond Point Meribel sits right on the piste in Méribel, with a terrace that looks straight down the valley. It is in the heart of the Three Valleys ski area, and I send guests here whenever a day on skis needs a proper pause. The restaurant is built into the side of the slope. It serves lunch, snacks and drinks, and the booking page says it is open every day from 9am to 7pm.
The music is what I mention first. There is live music seven days a week, with après-ski bands and now and then a DJ. Breakfast, lunch, après-ski and live sets are all on offer, mainly during the winter season. If you would rather keep moving, the snack bar at around 2000m has a takeaway: ski in, grab your food, ski out. The takeaway menu includes burgers, noodles and chips.
The venue also puts on bigger occasions. The Ronnie Loves Music Festival is an open-air live music festival held on the piste, and the DC Snow Show combines winter music with snowboarding. The ski-season calendar also takes in Christmas, New Year's Eve and guest DJs. Parts of the venue can be privatised for weddings and private parties, which is worth knowing if you are planning a group holiday in the Alps.
