A wood-fired oven sits at the heart of Il Mercato, a restaurant at Gemeenteplein 7, 8300 Knokke-Heist, in Knokke le Zoute. It is the first place I mention when guests ask me where to eat in town. I keep my recommendations short and honest, so I tell you only what I know and am happy to stand behind.
The oven is what I would point out first. A kitchen built around one cooks with real fire, and that gives its food a character of its own. If you enjoy dishes prepared this way, I think that is reason enough to visit Il Mercato during your stay.
